Professional Practice
OPENING STATEMENT
As I enter my final year of studying Graphic Design at The University of Chester, I continue to develop my graphics skills and creative concepts in the final year. Over the last two years of studying, I've learnt much about myself as a designer and developed my skills even further in the last year of University. I've gained confidence whilst developing work using a wide range of skill sets such as traditional sketches, digital arts, motion graphics and working audio (sound design/production).

Towards the end of the second year of my studies, I focused more on illustrations and simplifying designs. This idea developed quickly as I looked at artists like Yayoi Kusama whose work is very bright and vivid, Rafael Barietta who uses stand-out features of celebrities to create his work and many more artist to influence my own illustrations. Whilst my illustration skills have developed, I wanted to explore the side of motion design more as I've got a background with audio production.
I've taken an interest in looking into motion design and audio production, as one of my modules was motion design in my second year which I enjoyed as it was my first time exploring that medium. This gave me a clear insight of what type of work I would like to develop in my final year of University and for my last exhibition work (New Vision a Short Film). Along this process of the final year, I also want to focus more on the presentation of my work for future presentations and possible jobs in the industry, as I feel this side of my design work needs more work to add to my strengths.
